The North Dakota Public Service Commission is seeking to hire a temporary Construction Inspector to work in its Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Division. The mission of the AML Division is to eliminate the hazards associated with abandoned coal mines in the state to improve the safety and environment for the citizens of North Dakota. The position involves working at abandoned surface or underground coal mines. Work is generally in rugged and uneven terrain and working and driving near drilling, pumping and heavy equipment is required. The position involves working in all types of weather and walking on a variety of uneven or slippery surfaces. Lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and some manual labor (i.e. digging with a shovel, pounding in stakes and fence posts) may be necessary.Start and end dates are flexible, but work is expected to begin mid-May and continue through September. Workdays and hours may be irregular depending on weather conditions and the contractor's schedule. Applicant must be able to work at the project sites throughout the project. The agency will pay for overnight lodging near work sites during the work week as necessary. A State vehicle will be available for work-related travel. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.

Minimum Qualifications

Background in natural or earth sciences, construction management, agriculture, or engineering.Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Detail oriented with good observation and note-taking skills.College students who meet the minimum qualifications listed above are encouraged to apply. Domestic Violent Extremism/Terrorism Analyst is required to provide intelligence analysis and program support to the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) - Division of Homeland Security. The position is assigned to the North Dakota State and Local Intelligence Center (NDSLIC). This position is dedicated to advancing initiatives related to combating domestic violent extremism (DVE) and terrorism, both foreign and domestic.The following is a summary of the job responsibilities; this is not an all-inclusive list or a full job description. The position of the DVE/Terrorism Analyst reports directly to the NDSLIC's Chief of Operations and Intel Manager. Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and two years of professional work experience demonstrating extensive verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills. Relevant post-secondary education may substitute for the work experience on a year for year basis. Extensive knowledge of technology including Office 365. Must possess a ND Class D driver's license or equivalent from another state, valid auto insurance and an acceptable driving record. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes to the worksite. The North Dakota Public Service Commission seeks to hire a highly skilled individual to perform constructed-related work inspecting, documenting, and overseeing onsite construction operations at AML project sites as a field project manager. This position will also assist in planning, surveying, and designing projects for the Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) Division. The AML Division enhances the public's safety by prioritizing and reclaiming abandoned coal mine sites that pose health, safety, and general welfare hazards. A team of scientists and engineers on staff collectively plan, design, develop, and execute AML projects. We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented person with a background in construction, engineering, environmental science or land reclamation experience to join the team.The successful candidate will work in an office and at abandoned mine project sites. Travel with overnight stays during the construction season is expected. Work weeks will vary but are expected to be approximately 50 hours per week during the construction season and approximately 30 hours per week during the off-season. Project work may be conducted in all types of weather and requires walking and driving on rough, uneven, and slippery ground and around heavy equipment. Some manual labor is required such as digging with a shovel, pounding in stakes and fence posts and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an associate degree in environmental, agricultural, natural, or physical science; construction management; engineering; or a related field and three years of professional-level work experience.A bachelor's degree in the above fields may substitute for two years of professional-level work experience. OR Five years of professional-level work experience in a closely related field and an associate degree in another field.Must have, or obtain within 30 days of employment, a valid North Dakota driver's license. If unable to find applicants with satisfactory experience listed above, we will consider filling this position at a lower experience level which requires an associate's degree in the fields indicated above and at least one year of work-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Project management experience that includes heavy construction and drilling equipment. Experience managing contracts and contractors. Experience with a variety of technology including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, databases, and computer-based data analyses. Experience applying environmental laws, rules, and policies. Experience preparing environmental assessments, reports, and related documents. Experience working with federal or state oversight agencies. Management of environmental projects.
