TRAINING AND EXERCISE

This training is open to any and all involved in the development of their local hazard mitigation plan, including local government officials, emergency managers, land use planners, engineers, and floodplain administrators, those involved in the development of other local plans or those who just want to learn more about hazard mitigation planning.

During the training, we will hear from local communities, state representatives, and your FEMA R8 Mitigation Planning Team. We will share stories and resources to equip you with practical approaches and examples for how you can engage in and implement effective mitigation planning to reduce long-term risk from natural hazards and disasters.

The content is broken up into four modules that cover the stages of mitigation planning.
